Met Éireann warns that ‘very disturbed’ weather is on the way to Ireland

Olivia Hayes

Get ready for it.

While the weather seems grand at the moment (bar the odd shower), it’s all going to change in a matter of days.

Met Éireann has warmed that we’re in for “very disturbed” weather soon, and it doesn’t sound too good at all.

It said: “Unsettled weather generally but potentially very disturbed early next week.”

Great…

The forecast for the weekend reads:

“Rain with strengthening southerly winds will develop through Ulster, Connacht and parts of West Munster during Saturday morning. Drier weather conditions are expected elsewhere until later in the day, but becoming breezy. Afternoon highs of 15 to 17 degrees Celsius. Very mild, humid and wet in most places on Saturday night.”

And as for Sunday: “The rain will clear southeastwards on Sunday morning and drier, fresher, brighter weather with scattered showers will follow. Afternoon temperatures will range from 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, coolest in the northwest.”

It has also put out a warning for next week:

“There is a lot of uncertainty in the details for early next week but indications are for very disturbed weather.
Mild, very humid conditions are expected to develop during Monday, with rain moving up from the south in freshening southerly winds. There is a risk of some extremely windy conditions with heavy rainfall on Monday night or Tuesday but there is a large degree of uncertainty in details at present.”
