According to the latest research, most Millennials choose a holiday destination by how Instagrammable it is.
The days of simply letting your hair down and soaking up the local ambiance are long gone; two fifths (40%) of holidaymakers between the ages of 18 and 33 say that they investigate whether or not a vacation destination will look impressive on social media before they book their flights.
According to research by Schofields Insurance, who asked 1,000 adults about their holiday plans, the Instagram value of Generation Y's chosen destination is a higher priority than the price of booze (24%) and the quality of the local food (9.4%).
Only 3.9% of youngsters choose a holiday destination based on the sightseeing available.
Previous research has shown that trendy locations such as the Blue Lagoon, the Pyramids of Giza, and the Great Wall of China remain at the top of the average Millennial's wanderlust list.
At least they'll have lovely memories to look back on (even if they miss the trip taking selfies).
