Missing girl who disappeared while jogging found alive in France
She was reported missing by her parents when she did not return home.
A missing 17-year-old girl who disappeared when she was out for a jog has been found alive, French police say.
The girl, who was jogging in a forest in north-western France, was reported missing by her parents on Monday evening when she did not return home.
A mass search effort including 200 police officers was launched, leading to nationwide concern across France.
Local news reports that police have since stated that the teenager has been found alive. She is currently receiving health checks in hospital.
"Police confirm that the young girl who disappeared yesterday has been found alive," regional prosecutor Celine Maigne said.
Maigne said previously that she had launched a kidnapping investigating but that "no line of investigation" was to be ruled out in the search.
Authorities had been using data from the girl's running app as part of the search, where they saw that her route stopped suddenly in a rural area in the Mayenne region.
The app showed that she ran 1km before stopping, a diversion from her usual 5km loop around the forest. The teenager's father had located some personal effects, which are currently being examined by police.
There are no further details regarding the 17-year-old's reappearance.
