Motorcyclist in his 20s dies after road crash in Galway

Tragic news.

A man has died after a road crash in Galway on Monday (7 March).

The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred at around 7.30pm on Bóthar na dTreabh in Galway City.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Monday night, the crash site remains closed for a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions have been put in place.

A Garda spokesperson said the diversions are expected to remain in place on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, and were travelling in the Bother na dTreabh area of Galway City at the time of the crash are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
