Murder investigation launched after woman dies by shooting in Dublin

The woman was killed last night.

Gardaí have launched a murder investigation after a woman was killed in Dublin last night.

As RTÉ reports, the shooting occurred at a house in Collins Place in Finglas at around 8:40pm last night.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the woman was treated before she was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, where she subsequently passed away.

The area where the crime took place has been sealed off and an incident room has been created at the Garda Station in Finglas.

The coroner has been notified and the State Pathologist will conduct a post-mortem examination.

No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They can contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

The Gardaí are also urging anyone with CCTV, mobile or dash cam footage to get in touch.

House-to-house inquiries are expected to take place later today.
