New weather warnings issued as two ‘mini-storms’ head towards Ireland

The next two days are not looking good

It’s not looking good.

If you thought today was cold and windy, then be very prepared for the next two days.

A new weather warning has been issued as two “mini-storms” will rain down on Ireland.

According to Met Eireann, we will see a “dramatic change” in temperatures, and home and business owners in the south and west coast are being warned that there is a “real risk” of flooding.

“Heavy rain in the southwest and west will spread countrywide later in the night with the risk of further flooding and also rain possibly turning to sleet over higher ground.

“Later tonight and towards morning winds become southwesterly and increase very strong and gusty over the southwest and south, especially near coasts with the risk of coastal flooding.

“Lowest temperatures will fall to between 1 and 6 degrees with some frost in the midlands and north,” met.ie reports.

And for tomorrow, a very blustery day with “scattered outbreaks of rain overnight.”

“Frost and ice setting in as minimal fall back to between 0 and 4 degrees Celsius.”

Wrap up and stay safe!
