"Lowest temperatures are expected to fall to between zero and -3 degrees generally, but may fall locally to -4 degrees with a widespread sharp frost".
The weekend is likely to improve somewhat with dry and bright spells likely on Friday afternoon through to the evening. However, there is the risk of rain in Munster and Leinster with the "risk of heavy or thundery" bursts. At the moment, both Saturday and Sunday are expected to be relatively dry although there will be occasional showers. These are early predictions and the weather is subject to change.
