A serious road crash in Co Wexford has reportedly resulted in a number of fatalities.
The horrific incident happened on Monday evening, reports RTE, and involved a lorry and a car.

It is believed that the collision took place at around 6.30pm. Local reports suggest those travelling in the car may have been American.

Gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene on the N25 New Ross to Ballinaboola road at Begern. RTE reporter Damien Tiernan described that part of the road as a "notorious black spot".

"It is not yet known how many people have been killed in the crash but four people were in the car involved," states RTE.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
