From last minute meetings with the boss, to someone twisting your arm to go for 'a quick one' after work, there's nothing worse than wishing you had the right beauty supplies to transform your look in a matter of minutes.
So what's the solution? Carry around a back-breaking bag, brimming with beauty loot? Eh, no.
A small, yet hardworking selection of beauty saviours you can keep on your desk is all you need, and best of all, they're not too expensive, so you won't feel panicky leaving them out of your sight every night.
So, get stocking up asap... you won't know yourself once you have these bad boys at your disposal every day!
1. Volume powder
We've all been there... you pressed snooze about four times too many and only had time for a quick body shower, so by 3pm your hair is looking flat, dull and a teeny bit greasy. Dry shampoos are great, but if you want to give your hair an extra kick, a volume powder is the only way to go! This L’Oréal version is lightweight, gives great lift and is easy to brush out. Simply dust into your roots, massage in excess with your fingertips and fluff up your hair. You'll look like you've had rollers in all morning!
L’Oréal Professionnel Volumise Super Dust, €14.85
2. Bobby pins
We think this one is pretty self-explanatory, but in case you need a little more convincing, bobby pins can be used to tame stray flyaways, create an up-do on the go and pin back a fringe if the volume powder isn't working!
3. Nail file
Don't you just hate it when your nail breaks and you're left with a jaggedy edge all day that keeps catching on things? Famed for giving nails a salon worthy finish, we love the smaller sized Leighton Denny Crystal Nail File because it comes in a handy travel case that keeps the file clean and protected.

Leighton Denny Small Crystal Nail File, €17
4. Mascara
Sometimes there just isn't enough time in the morning to bother with makeup (and good for you, if you are brave enough to leave the house sans mascara), so having a stash of easy to use, big result products on your desk is a must. This volumising mascare will transform your lashes in one to two coats, is perfect for applying on the go, and is kind to your purse too!

Maybelline The Rocket Volum Express Mascara, €11.99
6. Lipstick
Not quite a lipstick and not quite a gloss, the new Apocalips range from Rimmel is the perfect desk to dinner saviour. Featuring seven different shades, this range gives high impact colour in one easy sweep, and is creamy enough to keep lips feeling moisturised all day long. Plus, the colour lasts for hours.

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer, €7.95
7. Nail polish remover
One of our biggest pet peeves is chipped nail polish. It looks grubby, totally unprofessional and even if you're dolled up to the nines from head to toe, chipped nails will ruin the whole effect. Thankfully, there's a super quick solution to the problem - the Bourjois nail polish remover pot. You can use it discreetly at your desk without anyone noticing, plus, it leaves nails feeling moisturised yet squeaky clean thanks to the sweet almond oil it contains.

8. Deodrant
From feeling a bit hot and bothered after you've hoofed it from the bus, to wanting a little pick me up during the day, having a can of deodrant handy is top of our list! The new compressed range from Sure, Dove and Vaseline are small enough to pop in your handbag or keep on your desk.
