Irish boxer John Joe Nevin is in hospital with a suspected broken leg after he was attacked in Mullingar this morning.RTÉ News reports that the 24-year-old, who won silver at the 2012 London Olympics, was attacked by a gang of men at his home in the Ardleigh area around 11.00am.
The Gardaí are said to be investigating the case.
UPDATE (6.24pm): A man in his 20s has been arrested and is being questioned at Mullingar Garda station.
