He killed his girlfriend four years ago.
And now, former Paralympian Oscar Pistorius’ prison sentence will increase to 13 years for the 2013 murder of Reeva Steenkamp.
The Supreme Court of Appeal made the judgement this morning, after the State applied for an extension to his initial six years.
Pistorius was arrested on Valentine’s Day of 2013 – the same day as the killing.
He fired four shots through his bathroom door, after claiming he thought there was a robber in the house.
In 2014, he was sentenced to five years for culpable homicide, however after just ten months, he was released on house arrest.
According to News24, the State appealed the culpable homicide conviction, and Pistorius was later charged with murder by the Supreme Court of Appeal in 2016, in which he had to serve six years.
However, the Supreme Court of Appeal believed that six years was too lenient for him.
