Police believe the body to have been in the freezer a for year and a half to two years. Though they have yet to release his age, they have confirmed Eliel was under five years old at the time of his death.
The cause and circumstances of his death remain under investigation.
Officers were tipped off to search the couple's Chesterfield home in Virginia on May 4. Court documents reportedly state that during a phone call with her brother, Dina claimed Eliel had died two years ago and that Kassceen had wrapped up his body and placed it in the freezer.
"It's taken a little bit of time to get us to the point right here just for the fact that this isn't your typical type of investigation," Chesterfield Police Major Mike Louth said, as reported by WTVR. "We have human remains that had been in a freezer for approximately a year and a half to two years.
"This is the first time I've seen anything like this. It's a heartbreaking case to observe. It's a difficult case for anybody to have to work."

A Chesterfield Police spokesperson added that Kassceen was also charged with "the domestic assault and malicious wounding of an adult female who is known to him." According to WTVR, police later confirmed Dina was the victim of these alleged attacks.
NBC12 reports that court documents reveal an alleged history of fear and abuse between the couple. In the documents, Dina claims Kassceen tied her up with an electrical cord, burned her with a curling iron and directed their older child to refer to her as an expletive.
Dina's brother also allegedly expressed concerns about a potential domestic violence situation between the pair to police.
The older child, who had also been living at the home, is now in foster care.
