Paris Jackson responds after controversial Michael Jackson show cancelled

Paris expressed her disappointment from the start.

Sky Arts were due to show a Michael Jackson episode Urban Myths series, called Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon. This centred around a story of how Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando got stuck in New York during the 9/11 attacks and led to them trying to drive the whole way back to Calfornia.

Backlash arose about the episode when it was announced white actor Joseph Fiennes was confirmed to play Michael Jackson

Fans quickly expressed how they felt about the show but when Michael’s family, and more specifically his daughter Paris disapproved, they made the decision to cancel the episode.

“We have taken the decision not to broadcast Elizabeth, Michael And Marlon, a half-hour episode from the Sky Arts Urban Myths series, in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson’s immediate family.

We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offence. Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.” The statement said.

Paris took to Twitter to express her surprise that her voice was heard.

”I’m surprised the family’s feelings were actually taken into consideration for once,” She said.

”We all really do appreciate it more than y’all know.” She added on Twitter, while retweeting a copy of the statement.

Michael’s nephew TJ who is Tito’s son, also took to Twitter to thank people for speaking out against the show.
