Big news this evening.

Former President of the Olympic Council of Ireland Pat Hickey is to have his passport returned to him and be allowed to leave Brazil for medical reasons according to RTÉ.

Justice Juliana Leal de Melo of the Special Court for Supporter and Large Events in Rio de Janeiro ruled this evening that Pat Hickey can leave Brazil to treat a health problem.

Hickey must pay a bond to the court of €410,000.

Hickey was arrested at the Rio 2016 games in August over allegations of ticket touting. His passport, as well as the passport of Irishman Kevin Mallon from THG Sports, were seized by Brazilian police following the arrest.

He faces charges relating to alleged ticket touting but he has denied all the allegations made against him.
