Pedestrian seriously injured after crash in Cork

A pedestrian in Cork has been left seriously injured after a crash occurred on the M8.

The incident involved a vehicle and the pedestrian on the southbound route between junctions 11 and 12.

The man who suffered the injuries has been taken to Cork University Hospital and Gardaí, the National Ambulance Service and the Fire Service all responded to the incident.

Diversions are now in place as the road has been closed off.
