Rape culture at its absolute finest.
Despite shocking cases like Stanford rapist Brock Turner and numerous accounts of men acting disgracefully to women when they don’t get what they want, there are still idiots out there that insist that rape culture is not real.
Every day women are criticised for their choices in situations they had no control over, with even brutally murdered women being shamed posthumously.
Another account of this vicious framing has been noted in UK tabloid newspaper, The Sun.
While the publication is known for its notorious headlines, the latest story run on a rape victim has gotten serious criticism from readers online.
The Sun tweeted a story on July 20, about India Chipchase, a 20-year-old woman who was strangled and murdered by rapist Edward Tenniswood.
Woman ‘drank six Jagerbombs in ten minutes on the night she was raped and murdered’ https://t.co/47HGvlWz23 pic.twitter.com/3WYZ1zGDNh

But the focus on the deceased victim’s drinking habits before she died rather than the inhumane actions of her killer incurred a wrath of hatred from upset and disgusted readers.
People took to Twitter to voice their strong emotions and fury at the damning article.
Why is The Sun attempting to increasing its falling readership by promoting victim blaming? Rape is rape, whether a victim is drunk or not.

Nothing much can surprise me about The Sun, but their article promoting the hideous rape culture of victim blaming is just… It’s so vile.

.@thesun just checking, how much is a woman allowed to drink before her murder is acceptable? That’d be useful info https://t.co/yZRJql9v6q
