The magazine is being heavily criticised.
The Paralympics begin on September 7th and with the Olympics having just finished up, the focus has shifted to the next round of games.
We can’t wait to see the 46 Irish Athletes compete in their various competitions which includes Long Jump, Javelin and Running.
Many publications and websites are featuring stories about the competition but Vogue’s coverage of the event has confused a lot of people.
Vogue Brazil featured a photo-shoot to promote the games but their choice of model is what people are having an issue with.
Instead of featuring the athletes who are competing at the Paralympic games, the magazine featured two able-bodied models and photo-shopped them to make it seem as though they were amputees.

The coverage is accompanied with the hashtag #SomosTodosParalímpicos which translated to ‘We’re all Paralympians’.
The hashtag is in itself is strange, while we’re all for solidarity, we cannot compare ourselves to Paralympic athletes, considering we have not trained tirelessly like they have nor have we dealt with the difficulties they have dealt with.
The hashtag, combined with the fact that they missed a perfect opportunity to represent the Brazilian athletes who are competing is making a lot of people angry, and we can see why.
People took to twitter to express their thoughts on the shoot.
We need to end Vogue. Thus shit is out of control, they're pathetic now 😤. They are not disabled pic.twitter.com/keQz4HnqlV

How frivolous can #VogueBrazil be, digitally altering models to look like #paralympians ?
