Are you due to get paid this Wednesday, May 1?

Permanent TSB has today announced that electronic payments to external bank accounts will not be processed on May 1st. This is due to a European Bank Holiday that’s taking place on that day and unfortunately, will affect banking here.

They have stated that their euro currency clearing system will be closed on that day, and also noted that employers who usually pay their staff on May 1 could too be affected if they haven’t submitted their payments early.

“If employers do not pay early, some employees may not receive their wage/salary payments until mid-morning Thursday 2nd May” their statement reads.

This too affects social welfare payments.

Transactions between two Permanent TSB accounts will not be affected on May 1 but if you do make an external payment it won’t be processed until the following day.

The bank has also stated that all their branches will still be operating normal working hours on Wednesday and so, if you have any further queries you can pop into them in store.

Permanent TSB lastly noted that their ATMs might be out of service between 8 – 10pm tomorrow night, April 30, due to “scheduled maintenance”.
