Phillip Schofield set to extend This Morning absence for several weeks
He's taking a break..
Phillip Schofield has been missing from his usual presenting role on ITV's This Morning and it looks like it'll be another while until we see him on our screens.
He has stepped back from the show due to his brother's ongoing trial. His brother has been charged with multiple sexual offences against a teenage boy.
Anyone who tuned into the morning show this week would have noticed Alison Hammond, with the new Great British Bake Off host, replacing Schofield.
Phillip's absence was not explained, but Holly did address it. She said: "Phillip is having the week off so all the adults have left the building."
Alison, who normally presents This Morning on Fridays with Dermot O'Leary, also returned to present This Morning on Tuesday.
ITV bosses announced that comedian and The Masked Singer presenter, Joel Dommet, would be replacing Phillip on Wednesday and Thursday.
Sharing a picture of Holly and Joel on the show's social media, This Morning wrote: "Join @hollywills and guest presenter @joeldommett, this Wednesday and Thursday on #ThisMorning! See you at 10am on ITV1, STV and @ITVX!"
Fans of the iconic duo, Phillip and Holly, will have to wait a little while longer before the pair are reunited to host the show once again.
This is because Phillip is taking a two-week break for the school holidays.
During an ad break on yesterday, This Morning revealed that Alison and Dermot would be replacing Holly and Phil for the Easter break.
This Morning viewers don't seem to be too upset though with many of them taking to social media to praise temporary host, Dermot.
One tweeted: "Loving @joeldommett with @hollywills today! You gotta give him something permanent @thismorning He’s natural, real & funny."
Another said: "Petition to get @joeldommett a permanent spot on #thismorning. I've not laughed like this at This Morning in a long time!"
