A plane at Dublin Airport was the subject of a security alert after a passenger on board the flight claimed that he had Ebola.
The Aer Lingus flight from Milan was held on the runway earlier today, but according to the Irish Mirror the Ebola claim was later found to be a hoax.
“A passenger on board an Aer Lingus flight from Milan has made a claim during the flight that he had the Ebola virus,” said a spokesperson from Dublin Airport.
“As a precaution, the plane’s captain alerted authorities and opted not to deplane passengers pending further investigations.. The HSE and gardaí have been contacted.”
Reports have since stated that the man does not have the virus.
Some Twitter users were tweeting about the incident this afternoon.
The plane Dad is on is still sitting on the tarmac of Dublin Airport. The man made the Ebola threat by writing on a coffee cup. So scary.
