You'll probably need the sunnies and the wellies this weekend!

We’d hope to expect sunny skies and dry days from August but it doesn’t always work out that way.

Luckily, the Met Eireann forecast for Saturday is looking pretty good, with “cool and fresh” conditions expected.

“The east and south will be mostly dry with some sunny spells at times, but mostly cloudy in Connacht, Ulster and parts of west Munster with showery rain spreading southwards. Breezy especially in the north and west with blustery northwest winds and afternoon temperatures of 16 to 18 degrees,” said a forecaster.

Sunday isn’t looking quite as good, with the rain making an unwelcome return from mid-afternoon.

“A blustery day with gusty northwesterly winds. Good sunny spells during the morning but showers will become widespread by the afternoon. Rather cool with highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees.”
