Police were called to the scene this week when a small baby was spotted alone in a locked parked car in a Liverpool car park.
Passers-by noticed the three-month-old infant under a blanket through the car windows and, concerned about the baby’s wellbeing, raised the alarm, reports The Liverpool Echo.
An announcement was made over the PA system in the nearby Toys’R’Us store to try and locate the owners of the car but no-one responded.
Police responded to an emergency call and attended the scene but by the time they arrived, one of the passers-by had found the baby’s parents in the Toys’R’Us store and they had returned to the car.
Thankfully, the police confirmed that the baby was unharmed.
“A report was received at around 1.55pm that a baby was alone in a car parked outside Toys R Us, Paisley Street,” a spokesperson for Merseyside Police said.
Social authorities were made aware of the incident this week, the spokesperson added, and the parents were given a talking-to by police.
“Advice was given to the parents and details of the incident have been reported to relevant partner agencies to ensure any issues are addressed.”
