Cleo Smith was found alive last night.

Police in Australia have released footage of the moment that four-year-old Cleo Smith was found alive inside a locked house.

Cleo had been missing for 19 days after disappearing from the remote campsite that she and her parents were staying at, north of Carnarvon in Western Australia’s Gascoyne.

The young girl was found at a locked house in Carnarvon yesterday, November 3, Australian time.

A man from the area has been arrested and is in police custody. Cleo has since been reunited with her parents.

Deputy Commissioner Col Blanch confirmed the news last night, stating: “It’s my privilege to announce that in the early hours of this morning, the Western Australia police force rescued Cleo Smith. Cleo is alive and well.”

Local police have since released footage of the moment that the four-year-old was rescued from the house.

Deputy Blanch said: “This is the outcome we all hoped and prayed for.”

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison later tweeted: “What wonderful, relieving news. Cleo Smith has been found and is home safe and sound. Our prayers answered.”

“Thank you to the many police officers involved in finding Cleo and supporting her family.”

Cleo’s mother Ellie Smith later shared a photo of her daughter on Instagram saying: “Our family is whole again.”

She had previously issued a public plea for anyone with information on Cleo’s whereabouts to contact the police.

“Every day is getting harder without my shining bright light,” Ellie said at the time.

“Today she’s missed Halloween with her family — her cousins, aunties uncles nannas, and pop but most of all her parents and baby sister. She needs us and we need her.”
