A postmortem is due today on the body of a 57-year-old woman who was attacked in her Clonsilla home yesterday morning.
Gardaí in Blanchardstown attended the scene in Willow Wood Grove, Hartstown on Sunday, June 21 at approximately 11.30am.
A woman was discovered in the home with serious injuries. She died at the scene.
A 60-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
A postmortem on the woman’s body is due to take place in the city morgue today by Deputy State Pathologist Dr Kathleen Han.
An incident room has been established at Blanchardstown Garda station, and a Senior Investigating Officer and a Garda family liaison officer have both been assigned to the case.
