People are only just learning that Prince Harry’s name isn’t actually Harry

One of these is that the King's youngest son, Prince Harry, isn't actually called Harry.

“The best gift I’ve ever been given is, without doubt, my kids. I enjoy watching them grow every single day and love being their dad,” a spokesperson for the Duke told the outlet.

A representative for the Duke also spoke to BBC and echoed similar sentiments.

“Becoming a father of two incredibly kind and funny kids has given me a fresh perspective on life, as well as sharpening my focus in all my work,” he said in the statement.

“Being a dad is one of life’s greatest joys and has only made me more driven and more committed to making this world a better place.”

However, one thing people are only just seemingly discovering is that Harry's birth name isn't actually Harry, something the Duke previously addressed.

"My name is Henry, but everyone calls me Harry. I have no idea," he joked at the WellChild Awards.

Henry Charles Albert David is the royal's official name, and fans have been left baffled at the discovery.

"I just learned Prince Harry (or anyone in the royal family) does not possess a last name, nor born with one. Wild," one person wrote.

Another penned: "Prince Harry isn't called Harry?!"

Prince Harry's children given new names

It comes after the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly given their children new names.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have redefined their identities in recent years since they stepped back from being senior members of the Royal Family back in 2020.

Since then, the couple have made waves with their moves, including a Netflix documentary and their Archewell foundation.

However, one change that fans of the pair did not see coming was their changing of Lillibet and Archie's names.

Their children, who were formally known as Prince Archie Mountbatten-Windsor and Princess Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor, are reportedly now to be known by something different.

A source told The Times that Harry and Meghan's children are now to be known as Archie and Lilibet Sussex instead.

This marks a move away from Royal tradition, which has set precedent for heirs of Queen Elizabeth to have Mountbatten-Windsor as their surname.

It comes after Harry and Meghan rebranded their Archewell website to Sussex.com. The site omits any use of the word 'royal', despite the 'Sussex' originating from their royal roots.
