The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) have announced a new recruitment drive and they’re looking to hire people from all communities. This is your chance to tackle crime, make a difference in the community and take on a job where you can help people on a daily basis.

Here’s what the PSNI are looking for before they’ll consider you for an interview:
- You need to be over the age of 18 and eligible to work in the UK.
- You must be able to demonstrate that you have the level of computer literacy required to effectively perform the role of a constable. This will be tested at a number of stages in the recruitment process but there is no requirement for a formal IT qualification needed.
- You also need to be fit and pass a physical competence assessment and complete training sessions.
- If you’re from Republic of Ireland will need to have obtained a Leaving Cert in five subjects at Grade C (Ordinary) or Grade D (Honours), including Maths and English.
- But, if you came through the UK system will need a minimum of five GCSEs at A to C grade, including Maths and English Language.
- There’ll be a medical assessment to ensure that you’re fit to carry out the duties of a PSNI constable.
- You’ll also be required to pass the Physical Competence Assessment, which is an obstacle course that has to be completed three times in three minutes and 54 seconds.
