“That is not right,” said his lawyer.

R Kelly’s defence team have argued for bail because his “lady friends” can’t visit him in prison.

The singer is facing multiple charges in Chicago and New York due to allegations of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.

Kelly, real name Robert, had been denied bail meaning that only one person not related to him can visit him in prison over the course of 90 days.

Fox News reports that the singer’s lawyers have filed a motion to grant him bail over complaints he has made about only one of his “lady friends” being able to visit him.

“His visits are severely restricted; presently, he is only allowed one unrelated person to visit,” read the motion filed by attorney Steven Greenberg.

“In other words, although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he is required to switch.

“No other friends or professional colleagues are allowed to visit. That is not right.”

Greenberg also argued that the singer is not a flight-risk and that he does not pose a threat to his alleged victims.

Kelly is accused of exploiting five alleged victims, known as Jane Does. He was arrested in July of this year and has remained in jail without bond since.

The RnB singer is also facing 10 charges of aggravated sexual abuse in Illinois.

According to NPR, if convicted in New York, he faces up to 80 years in prison.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
