Just when we thought we were out of the weather woods, it’s time for another notable warning from the team at Met Éireann.
It’s another Status Yellow spectacular, this time concerning three counties in total – Cork, Kerry and Waterford.
According to the national forecaster, heavy rain accompanied by strong and gusty southeasterly winds may lead to hazardous driving conditions and spot flooding in places.
The warning is valid from midday on Monday (5 September) and will remain in place until 11pm.
Elsewhere on the weather front, Monday will become windy in general after a calm start to the morning, particularly in the southwest. Cloud is expected to build during the day, with showery rain set to gradually spread northwards over the country.
Heavy and thundery downpours are likely, alongside highest daytime temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees.
Monday night brings further showery rain, once again mostly located in the south of the country. Lowest temperatures of 12 to 15 degrees are anticipated.
