A long-awaited referendum on marriage equality will be held in Ireland next Spring, it has been confirmed.
An Taoiseach Enda Kenny had previously vowed to hold the ballot in 2015 and confirmed in the Dail this evening that it will proceed next Spring.
The news comes following a hugely successful Dublin Pride Festival, which took place in the city last weekend.
