Nearly all restrictions in Ireland due to end by October 22

Freedom day, anyone?

Nearly all restrictions in Ireland are expected to end by October 22.

RTÉ News reports that plans set to go before Cabinet tomorrow detail October 22 as the date when almost all Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted.

From September 6, indoor venues will be permitted to use 60% of their capacity for people who are fully vaccinated, while outdoor venues can use up to 75% capacity for those who are vaccinated.

It is expected that mask wearing will still be necessary in certain settings.

This comes as public transport will return to 100% capacity later this week. It is also expected that a phased return to office work will commence later this month.

The Cabinet will examine this proposed plan tomorrow, where an official announcement will be made.
