Robin Wright has spoken about Kevin Spacey’s sexual assault allegations for the first time.

The actor was fired from Netflix’s House of Cards following accusations that he made sexual advancements towards a minor in 1986.

Spacey said that he didn’t remember the incident in question.

Scotland Yard are currently investigating five allegations of sexual assault against the actor and one allegation of assault.

House of Card‘s star Robin Wright has spoken about the allegations for the first time, saying that she “didn’t really know” Spacey.

She told US programme, Today:

“Kevin and I knew each other between action and cut, and in between setups, where we would giggle.

“I didn’t really … I didn’t know the man. I knew the incredible craftsman that he is.”

This comes after a fourth of July trailer featuring Wright as the House of Cards lead was released last week.

Her character, Claire Underwood, will take over the presidency from her husband, Frank (formerly played by Spacey) after he stepped down from his role as president at the end of season five.

Netflix confirmed that Wright would become the show’s lead character not long after the allegations against Spacey surfaced.

Spacey has denied any sexual assault allegations made against him.

House of Cards returns this Autumn.
