Rolf Harris Enters A Non-Guilty Plea To 12 Indecent Assault Charges

TV presenter Rolf Harris has entered a non-guilty plea in relation to 12 indecent assault charges. The 83-year-old was in court today to face assault charges of four girls between 1968 and 1986. The veteran presenter was remanded on bail with a trial date for 30 April and he has yet to be charged with four counts of making an indecent image of a child. His wife Alwen Hughes sat in the public gallery along with his daughter, 49-year-old Bindi. Six of the indecent assault counts relate to a girl aged 15 between April 1980 and April 1981, and one relates to the same alleged victim at the age of 19 in the year between January 1984 and January 1985. Three of the alleged indecent assaults relate to a 14-year-old girl in May 1986. The other two charges relate to the alleged indecent assault on a girl aged seven or eight between January 1968 and January 1970, and a girl aged 14 between January 1975 and January 1976. Harris was released under certain bail conditions that include residing at his home address. In addition, he is not permitted to contact the prosecution witnesses and if he spends time with anyone under the age of 18 there must be an adult over 21 present.
