Sandy Hook Elementary School, which was hit by a shooting massacre in which 26 people died last year, was evacuated today following a hoax bomb threat.
The Connecticut school was the site of a mass murder in 2012, when Adam Lanza shot dead twenty children and six staff before killing himself.
Staff received a call this afternoon claiming there was a bomb on the premises, with all students evacuated and sent home.
However, police conducted a search of the school and found nothing, later confirming that the threat had “little to no credibility” and was a hoax.
Sandy Hook Elementary was relocated from Newtown to a new premises in Munroe following the 2012 tragedy.
