Saoirse Ruane's mum, Roseanna, has shared an update amid her cancer treatment.
Saoirse Ruane is doing well amid her cancer treatment, her mum has confirmed.
The inspirational 'Toy Show' star has been improving in recent weeks.
Alongside a photo of Saoirse and her dog, Roseanna revealed that the past seven weeks have been incredibly tough on the family.
She said it was so refreshing to see her daughter looking so well and in her school uniform too.
Her mum said Saoirse has been very low on energy, sleeping a lot, and had a poor appetite.
But Saoirse has made a vast improvement and has even gone back to school.
"A couple of weeks later, Saoírse is up first thing for school, doing the full days, completing her homework, and clearing her plate again."
Saoirse is also doing well with her treatment too.
"She’s continuing her treatment and tolerating it well," her mum said. However, her parents have found the last few weeks very difficult because of how poorly Saoirse was.
"It’s very hard to describe the worry and fear we as parents go through every day."
She explained that it didn't feel right to post on social media, especially because they have a love/hate relationship with it, but the mum said they miss the fun side of it.
"We don’t know when we’ll get back to those fun things as truth be told most days we don’t know whether we’re coming or going," she said.
"There's a lot to be grateful for"
But there are still good days for the 'Toy Show' star and her family.
"Some days are so good and happy, we almost feel life is normal, but then you quickly come back down to earth again and realise the journey we’re on is still very uncertain."
Their family's entire life is different now, but they vowed to make the very most of it.
"We don’t say this looking for empathy, we just say it as it is."
Saoirse and her family want to show people that "there's a lot to be grateful for" even if your life isn't what you dreamed of.
"If Saoírse can get up every day with such determination, then you can too," her mum added.
