A schoolboy who has formed a second set of teeth, after his adult teeth grew in behind his baby teeth without pushing them out.
Zak Brown has even been dubbed ‘Jaws’ by classmates who were shocked to see the second set of teeth in their friend’s mouth.
The eight-year-old from Leeds, West Yorkshire, says the extra teeth don’t hurt him, although his mum is noticing it is starting to affect his speech slightly.
Mum Claire said:
“We thought something was a bit fishy when he got his first extra tooth through. All the while he wasn’t losing his baby teeth. Unfortunately there is now a good two or three year wait to see the orthodontist.
“Although it doesn’t hurt and he has no trouble eating it is starting to affect his speech slightly.”
Zak only lost his first baby tooth last week, but more than the chance to start maybe losing his extra set of pearly whites, the excitement was purely reserved for cashing in on the tooth fairy.
It probably helped that mum and dad treated him to a generous visit from the tooth fairy too, seeing as it was a long over-due wait:
“We gave him £10 to a-bait him.”
