The search is ongoing.

A search is continuing in Wyoming, USA today for a Dublin man who went missing while on a hiking trail.

27 year old Cian McLaughlin was last seen at around 2.30 pm last Tuesday, June 8. He was around 800 metres from the Lupine Meadows Trailhead in Grand Teton National Park when he was last spotted.

The search is continuing from last week when McLaughlin didn’t show up for work in Jackson, Wyoming on Thursday June 10.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that they have been informed of the situation and “has been providing consular assistance to the family”.

It wasn’t until June 12 that the Teton County Sherrif’s Office received an official missing persons report.

They then contacted the national park early the following day once it was established that McLaughlin may have been hiking there.

On Sunday, his vehicle was discovered at Lupine Meadows Trailhead in the park.

Aerial reconnaissance and ground search operations have been carried out and the search for McLaughlin is ongoing.

As of now, the route the Dublin native took is unknown, and as there are five different routes in the park, it is hard to determine.

The Us National Park Service Investigative Services Branch has said that he was last seen wearing a cut-off tank top and shorts, a bucket hat and round sunglasses. It was noted that he did not have a backpack.

There are over 40 park staff involved in the search effort as well as four local search and rescue dog teams and members of Teton County Search and Rescue.
