Gardaí have said they are following a number of lines of inquiry into the disappearance of a 14-year-old girl in Co Tipperary.

Elisha Gault went missing on Saturday 17 March. She was last seen at around 10pm at her home on New Street in Carrick-On-Suir and on Dillon Bridge in the town shortly afterwards. Her friends and family are 'extremely' concerned abut her welfare. Earlier this week householders, businesses and landowners in the Carrick-On-Suir area were asked to check their gardens, outhouses, sheds and buildings. The public have given a "large amount of assistance," with the search, the Gardaí have said. "There have been a number of possible sightings of Elisha and they are being followed up at present to confirm if they are legitimate or not," a Garda told The Irish Mirror. The Gardaí still believe that Gault could be alive, he added. "We have nothing to suggest otherwise." Local volunteers and the Civil Defence are taking part in the search for the girl, which has been supported on the Suir river by Carrick-on-Suir Rescue Craft, Nenagh Search And Rescue and Waterford River Rescue. The Coast Guard has also been involved. In an appeal on Facebook, her mother asked for anyone with any information that would help with the search to come forward. "If you know of her whereabouts, tell her she isn’t in trouble, she won’t be forced to come home, if she doesn’t want to," Gráinne Gault said. "We just want to know she’s safe and well and we can call off all the search efforts and that myself, her daddy and her three sisters love her very much, no matter what."
