Friends and family wait for news of the missing aircraft
The airline lost contact with Flight MH370 at about 2:40 a.m. local time (1:40 p.m. ET Friday), Sharuji said.
"Malaysia Airlines is currently working with the authorities who have activated their Search and Rescue team to locate the aircraft," said a statement issued by the airline.
We are doing everything we can to ensure every possible angle has been addressed," Transport Minister Hishamuddin Hussein told reporters at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"We are looking for accurate information from the Malaysian military. They are waiting for information from the Vietnamese side," he said.
