David Norris took to the floor of the Seanad this week and made an impassioned plea for Ireland to protest the treatment of Palestinians in the Gaza conflict.
Norris announced that he was neither pro-Israel nor pro-Palestine but was pro-human being and spoke out against Ireland’s decision to abstain from a vote on the conflict in the Human Rights commission.
The Senator went on to condemn the attacks on schools, Obama’s lack of involvement in the conflict and Israel’s policies of “shoot first, weep later.”
Norris visibly and audibly seemed shaken and distressed by the speech. This is heartbreaking to watch and extremely honest and revealing.
