Simone Biles forced to drop out of Olympics team final due to injury

Even the best have bad days.

Simone Biles is facing heartbreak as she has been forced to withdraw from the Olympics team final today after suffering an injury.

The USA gymnast was on her way to win her first gold medal when she misjudged her opening vault, resulting in her leaving the floor for medical treatment.

Scoring the lowest with 13.766, the GOAT left the floor briefly with her trainer, before returning in a tracksuit and did not complete the rest of her rotations.

Simone was on her way to potentially win six gold medals after qualifying for every individual apparatus final, finishing on top of them all.

Jordan Chiles quickly stepped in as Simone’s replacement, with Simone unable to live up to her four gold medal victory at the Rio 2016 games.

The International Gymnastics Federation said that she won’t be taking part in any other events but will still get a medal if the US team end up on the podium, which is very likely as they are favourites.

USA Gymnastics said: “Simone has withdrawn from the team final competition due to a medical issue.

“She will be assessed daily to determine medical clearance for future competitions.”
