Singer Brian Kennedy has spoken about his diagnosis with rectal cancer.
The talented musician chatted with Matt Cooper on The Last Word this evening and people really empathised with the Belfast native.
Chatting on The Today FM radio show, Brian said that he’s just completed his first two weeks of treatment in St. Vincent’s hospital.
In a memorable quote that shows his self-effacing attitude, Brian said:
“Could I get a more embarrassing form of cancer!? But as my doctor pointed out, there are a lot more worse places to get this.
“So I have cancer up the bum but I’m Brian Kennedy and I’m not afraid to talk about this kind of stuff”.
Brian said that his cancer was diagnosed at an early stage and he urged others to ask for help if they have any health concerns.
"I am a bit scared that is the honest truth but I'm also very very hopeful" – Brian Kennedy
