Sarah McKenna Barry

Dean last made contact with his family on Sunday morning when he was in Galway.

The sister of a Dublin man who was last seen in Galway over the weekend has appealed for help in tracing his whereabouts.

28-year-old Dean McCann is described as being 5ft 11in tall. He has dark hair, light blue eyes, braces and a beard. He also has tattoos of a wolf, a moon and mountains on one arm and a tattoo of a wing on the other arm.

It is understood that he was wearing a Super Dry puffer jacket that had a green check pattern on the shoulders. It is also thought that he was wearing black Adidas tracksuit bottoms that have a white stripe down the sides.

The last contact he made with his family was on Sunday morning at 9:30am while he was in Eyre Square in Galway. His family has not heard from him since.

Dean left Dublin on Saturday 5 February and drove to Cork in a grey BMW. He then travelled to Galway.

His sister Tara has been sharing posts on social media appealing for information on her brother.

In a photo that has been circulated widely on Instagram, Tara wrote: “I’m begging everyone I know, and everyone else who can help spread his picture around to please share this. (If you can send it to people with a lot of followers I’d be so grateful and especially people in the west of Ireland – mainly Galway).

“We are so desperate to know where he is, it feels like a nightmare that’s just not ending. My mam and dad and myself and my other brother are so heartbroken and worried. If you see him or have seen him please message me or call Santry or Galway Garda Station.”

She added: “All we know about his whereabouts is that he was in Galway on Sunday morning and that he wanted to go where people need help so please keep shelters, hostels, places of refuge in mind, any areas that come to mind.”
