Six wild elephants die while trying to rescue each other at Thai waterfall

This is so sad.

Six elephants have fallen to their deaths after trying to save each other from a waterfall in Thailand, authorities said.

The incident occurred after a baby elephant slipped over the waterfall in central Thailand’s Khao Yai National Park.

When officials went down to investigate, they found five more elephants dead as well as the calf.

Two other elephants were also found in difficulty nearby, thought to be attempting to rescue the calf, but authorities successfully removed them to safety.

Both of these are being cared for by a vet and were said to be in a state of exhaustion.

The waterfall has been closed to the public temporarily following the incident.
