In a talk at Goldman Sachs's Internet and Technology conference in San Francisco, Evan explained how he gets that everyone hates the update but he's actually really happy with the reaction.
He said: "We're excited about what we're seeing so far, the best part is that even some of the complaints we're seeing reinforce the philosophy [behind the design]."
Continuing he said...
"One of the complaints we got was 'Aww...I used to feel like this celebrity was my friend, and now they don't feel like my friend anymore,' and we're like, 'Exactly. They're not your friend.'"
How delightful.
He then spoke a little by saying that the revamp was to make a better distinction between Snapchat's private communication section and the public communication platform. Well we don't know what you did but we don't like it.
