"Scattered sleet and snow showers most frequent across Ulster and Connacht will occur but some showers penetrating into central and eastern areas at times with the odd flurry further south. Accumulations generally 1-2cm expected. Wintry showers becoming confined to northern areas by late evening." Meanwhile, Donegal Weather Channel's Kenneth McDonagh said: "Some areas may only see temporary dusting leading to dangerous conditions on road with ice forming. "Areas across the northwest could see snowfall on the ground for a few hours especially over the Tuesday morning period. "I expect totals of around 2cm to 6cm for some but also note that some areas may see nothing at all with showers falling at sleet and hail."
