Wait ... Is that #wave #ios8 thing true??? :/
— Jim (@deluxejay) September 18, 2014
The hoax is reportedly linked to a new feature on iOS 8 called Wave. According to a fake description, the feature will "interface with your device's radio baseband, allowing it to synchronize with microwave frequencies and use them to recharge your battery."
This is obviously nonsense, yet according to Twitter, iPhone users have actually tried it out…
This is the latest in a string of iOS hoaxes. Just remember – don’t put your phone in the microwave.
