SSE Airtricity has announced it will reduce its gas and electricity prices for customers.
It said will reduce gas prices by 11.5 percent and electricity by 2.7 percent for its more than 320,000 household customers from 1 May.
The company believe the reductions will mean a typical annual saving of €102 for customers on SSE Airtricity’s most popular Direct Debit and eBilling Dual Fuel standard tariffs.
David Manning, Director of Home Energy at SSE Airtricity, said: “I’m pleased today that we’re announcing price cuts on our natural gas and electricity standard rates. These reductions will help customers save around €102 on their annual energy costs.
“It comes at an anxious time for homes and families across the country and in these uncertain times I want to assure our customers we’re doing all we can to continue delivering the great service you expect from us.
"Customers can visit sseairtricity.com to find more information and have many of their queries answered. Our Customer Service team is also available on web chat or on phones, and I’d like to encourage any customers with concerns around their energy bills to contact us and we’ll find a resolution together.”
The latest cuts from SSE Airtricity follows recent price reductions by Bord Gáis Energy, Electric Ireland and PrePayPower.
Energy prices have been steadily declining for over a year and there's also the impact of the coronavirus outbreak as well as the oil price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
