Starbucks in the US have implemented a new uniform policy that has caused backlash online.
Baristas are now forbidden from wearing watches, bracelets, wristbands and the most controversial of all, engagement rings.
In a statement aired on CNN, a Starbucks spokesperson explained that the change of dress code was as a result of federal food safety guidelines.
The spokesperson also states that the issue was not with engagement rings specifically but any jewellery with a stone.
The coffee house has changed their policy on tattoos and nose studs, detailing in the new policy that they are now permitted.
