Stay safe out there.

A status orange fog warning has been listed for 18 counties in Ireland as the country gets set for hazy late night and early morning conditions.

Issued on Monday evening (8 April), the warning concerns Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford.

According to Met Éireann, mist will thicken into fog overnight and should become dense at times.

The warning is valid from Tuesday 9 April at midnight until 8am on Tuesday morning.

Motorists travelling in difficult foggy conditions are advised to take care while driving.

Still, things are looking more promising for later in the week.

Met Éireann has told us to expect temperatures in the low teens and mostly dry conditions for Wednesday and Thursday.

“Wednesday will be mainly dry with sunny spells. A few showers will develop in the afternoon, mainly in Munster. Highest temperatures of 8 to 13 degrees, coolest in the northeast and mildest in the southwest with mostly light east to southeast breezes.”

“Thursday morning will be mainly dry with sunny spells. A few well scattered showers will develop in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees with moderate southeast breezes.”
