Status yellow weather warning in place for Cork

Hugh Carr

Localised flooding is expected.

Met Éireann have issued a Status Yellow Rain warning, with heavy rain set to arrive on Monday (11 April).

The weather warning has been issued for Cork, with the south and southwest of the county set to be most affected by the weather.

Met Éireann are warning that the weather conditions will lead to localised flooding, and dangerous driving conditions.

The warning is in place from 1am to 1pm on Monday.

The weather is set to be mostly dry in the rest of the country tonight, with some patchy rain and light drizzle.

Monday is set to be overcast, with heavier rain travelling northeastward across the country during the morning and afternoon.

Tuesday (12 April) will also be cold and damp, with hail showers forecast for some areas.

The wet weather should be gone by Tuesday night.
